'N'okpuru Mmiri'

To help bring the current water crisis affecting 33 of 36 states closer to reality, the crowd was enveloped with myriad sounds to show the dichotomy between the rich and poor across Nigeria. In addition to intricate tailoring and feminine silhouettes, "N'okpuru Mmiri" - meaning underwater - aims to highlight fashion's effect on climate change.

Showcased at Federal Palace, during Lagos Fashion Week in Lagos, Nigeria on the 28h of October, 2022, the collection centers around a conversation between some elements of nature like water, architecture, and global climate change. The runway soundtrack was a myriad of sounds related to the current water crises 33 of the 36 states in Nigeria are currently facing. Beginning with the bursting hues of blue meant to represent water, the runway collection includes locally sourced vintage and deadstock textiles.
