Our commitment to artisanal craftsmanship is part of our philosophy at AKACHI. This commitment and dedication to a slower pace of productionprovide us the opportunity to incorporate local craftsmanship and traditional practices into our elaborate, handmade clothing and accessories created across the African continent.
House of Akachi reimagined Gallery at the Landmark's gallery space as an experiential pop-up experience combining cultural codes from Nneji Akunne's Nigerian-American upbringing and insight into garment production cycle.
For her first exhibition, Nneji Akunne goes beyond garment design to examine the global impact of garment waste. She visually depicts the importance of sustainability in fashion by creating intricate pieces assembled from scrap materials leftover from past collections.
