Responsibility at Akachi

Our Responsible Mission

As part of the Akachi Group, Inc,. our curated platform offers you the choice to invest in exceptional fashion and accessories that have been consciously crafted. Our team of designers and tailors work under one roof in an environment that allows for creativity and an exchange of ideas. Beyond our studio in Lagos, Nigeria, Akachi engages with artisans across the globe to contribute to the ideation of our collections.

We are moving forward with an ongoing commitment to reinforce our culture of purpose, demonstrating our values through innovative pathways towards social and environmental sustainability. Made-to-Order items are made specifically for you, and your order directly supports our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment. This allows us to avoid excess inventory, pay our manufacturers upfront and reduce waste.

Locally Made

Each garment released on houseofakachi.com is intimately connected to the place and people behind them. At least 50 percent of our brand's products have been manufactured within the country indicated in the product description, demonstrating an investment in the local economy and environment.

Leather

Leather is by nature sustainable because it is a renewable natural material, which after the end of working life, becomes part of a natural cycle. It is a byproduct from another industry, which means it does not need additional land and resources to be maintained.

Garment Care

The best way to help your garment last longer is to care for them properly. We encourage our customers to:

  • Wash your clothes less (spot clean wherever possible)
  • Wash on low temperatures (on 30 degrees or less)
  • Avoid tumble drying
  • Iron less (hang your clothes to dry)
  • Only dry clean when absolutely necessary and use an eco-friendly service
  • Repair and keep your garments (please contact us if you have any questions)

Rethink, Rebuild, Reimagine

Luxury shouldn't be wasteful. We create limited-edition capsule collections to reduce the amount of clothing produced. Within the manufacturing process, we save scrap material to be creatively upcycled in later collections. Reduce, reuse, recycle.
